    The Grand Tour was what would now be called an art exhibition that traveled from Dover, England to either Ostend in the Spanish Netherlands/Belgium, or to Calais or Le Havre in France. This tour attracted many art admirers who travelled by coach or boat.

    The industrial revolution were the years where there were major changes in agriculture, manufactoring, mining, transport and technology. In the Industrial Revolution roads were constructed making it easier for people to travel.

    The ocean liner became a new way for many people to travel. The size of the ocean liner increased in 1880 to suit the needs of people who were wanting to immigrate into The United States and Australia.

    The September 11 attacks caused tourism in New York City to plummit which caused devoastating losses in a sector which before the attacks, generated 25 billion dollars annually. The attacks caused 3,000 people to loose jobs due to the 40% decrease in hotal occupancy. Tourism, hotel occupancy and flying also fell significantly accross America.
