  • Jean- Baptiste Lamarck

    Jean- Baptiste Lamarck
    Jean-Baptiste Lamarck- (1 August 1744- 18 December 1829) In 1802 Lamarck published Hydrogéologie, and became one of the first to use the term biology in its modern sense. He believed that all life was organized in a vertical chain, with gradation between the lowest forms and the highest forms of life, thus demonstrating a path to progressive developments in nature.

    Charles Darwin- (12 February 1809 – 19 April 1882)
    On 4 January 1837 Charles Darwin presented his mammal and bird specimens to the Zoological Society.
  • Alfred Russell Wallace

    Alfred Russell Wallace
    Alfred Russel Wallace (8 January 1823 – 7 November 1913). In 1848 Wallace left for Brazil aboard the Mischief. His intention was to collect insects and other animal specimens in the Amazon rainforest and sell them to collectors back in the United Kingdom. In 1858 he sent an article outlining his theory to Darwin; it was published, along with a description of Darwin's own theory, in the same year.

    Sir Julian Sorell Huxley (22 June 1887 – 14 February 1975) Huxley was an English evolutionary biologist, humanist and internationalist. He was a proponent of natural selection, and a leading figure in the mid-twentieth century evolutionary synthesis. Huxley was well known for his presentation of science in books and articles, and on radio and television.
