    Perkins Institute

    Samuel Gridley Howe founded the Perkins Institute in Watertown, Massachusetts, a school for the blind. He received children to the institution once funds became available. He also included education for the deaf and printed books in braille. Laura Bridgman was the first deaf-blind girl to be triumphant at Perkins Institute.

    National Education Association

    National Education Association provide funds for students with disabilities, which facilitates the learning environment for such individuals. These students are able to attend public school at zero cost to them and their parents/guardian. National Education Association established that children with disabilities deserve to have an education like the rest of the student body.

    Louis Braille

    Louis Braille, a French academic leader produced the Braille code. He is responsible for the coming about raised dots that helps blind individuals communicate. Braille is used in the school system and aids blind students with their studies. The Braile system was introduced to the United Stated in the 1990's.

Parents were encouraged to send their kids in institutions designed for children with difficulties. ARC came in place to abolish that plan and intervened. As a result, children with disabilities were now able to be received at public schools.

    This case was about providing states the freedom to deny children a proper education because they had a hard a hard time learning, such as children with disabilities. The ARC of Pennsylvania came into place to protect and fight for equal rights of these children. Later on, ARC won the case against Commonwealth and children were granted undistinguishable education with no judgment.

    Education for All Handicapped Children Act

    A law that provides students with mental and physical disabilities the right to an education to a public school. It also includes free meals during school hours. Funds for these students are also accepted as they help the school facilitate these children’s learning environment.

    Best Buddies International

    It’s an organization where students in middle school, high school and college are paired with a person with no disability to establish friendships in the school environment. They meet within school hours and either have lunch together or get involved in pep rallies. Recently, I learned that there is a e-buddies where individuals age 10 and above can exchange email with their peers. Ultimately this helps with their communication skills .

    Americans with Disabilities Act is the law that forbids prejudice towards a disabled person. This law protects them from School, Work and Public places. Accommodations are put in place for them to ease daily living tasks.

If a student is not doing well academically, then it’s the school’s responsibility to ensure that student gets the required assessment.
