It is also believed, that two angels appeared to Muhammad in the form of men, opened his chest, and purified his heart with snow. Muhammad's mother died when he was 6 years old, and now without a mother or father who had died when he was much younger, he was raised by his grandfather.

The key messages of prophet Muhammad's life in Mecca were the oneness of God and the denial of polytheism, helping the poor and the sick, kind treatment of slaves, and the equality of men and women before God. He quickly gained followers. Like every good leader he had enemies though, he was assaulted, tortured and some that even tried to kill him. Which drove Muhammad out of Mecca for a period of time.
