    This is the first of many systematic efforts to educate identified gifted students. Although, education has a long way to go, it is a start.

    Even though these scales intended purpose was designed to identify children with intellectual needs for classroom placement, they forever have changed education for every student.

    This research gave education great insight into a number of traits about gifted students. A year later, Terman published what is considered the first textbook on gifted education, "Gifted Children: Their Nature and Nurture."
  • During his address that the annual meeting of American Psychological Association, Guilford publicly challenges the idea that IQ testing could potentially portray one's mental capability.

    His research made way for establishing a broad definition of giftedeness. He felt strongly that intelligence scores could should focus on three components and not stifle divergent thinking.

    This act mandated specific interventions nationwide for all schools who were not sufficiently servicing their grade-level and lower students.

    Teacher preparation programs now have knowledge and skill standards in gifted education. These children need to be properly serviced in order to fully reach their potential.
