There is a heavy reliance on archive footage, and long voice overs, which although are still common features, they are not now relied upon throughout the whole show. There is also inclusion of ambient sounds to reflect a sense of realism and regular pans across the city, to show the vast nature of the issue. However, there is more diverese camera movements used such as tilts. The interviewer is never shown, and there is sense of detachment throughout, with no focus on any one individual.

This show saw an increase in the introduction of piano music to create dramatic effect. There is still some reliance on archive footage, however, the presenter Debroah Davies is shown on camera. There is also the inclusion of a hand held camera and shaky footage, as undercover filming is conducted. The shaky movement further adds to the suspense and secrecy surrounding the ALF movement. The show works on sensationalising these extreme activsts, presenting them in a negative light.

We are now beginning to see the inclusion of regular guest presenter Debroah Davies, who looks to ask the diffcult and confronting questions surrounding the sensitive nature of the case. Interviews are conducted with various experts, such as a pathologist, solicitor and a detective. All the interviews are set in a office backdrop, and there is no element of humour or any emotional connection with the interviewee, relfecting the shows hardhitting nature. However, there are the regular mid shots.

There is now a regular inclusion of music during the introduction. Quick shots are used during the beginning sequence to build up an overview of the story. The more recent Dispatches documentaires reflect a much faster pace than previously. The voice over is often sarcastic and negative as in most of the shows. However, we start to see new features such as a video diary, to capture more intimate moments of the undercover journalists as we follow their story.

    Dispatches: 'The School Dinner Scandal'
The show features a female presenter who is regularly shown and heard on camera. The voice over offers background information and statistics however, it also includes opinons held by the presenter. On screen text is a feature but it is presented in an unusal way, due to advances in special effects it floats on to the screen. There is some archive footage but it is not heavily replied upon. Long shots are used more regularly to give the audience a sense that they are a fly on the wall.
