Marijuana becomes Illegal
The congress had made the decision to make Marijuana Illegal based off of the Testimony of William Randolph Hearst. William Hearst had made the claims that marijuana use would take an everyday guy and turn him into a violent criminal. William Hearst was in the textile industry and didn't want hemp to be a viable competitor for cotton goods. Without justification he can not make wool illegal so he chose to target Hemp. -

Harry Anslinger was one of Hearst largest supporter. He had backed up Hearst with words of hate and discrimination. Spewing racist vile from his mouth to try and convince people of the horrors of Marijuana. His ramblings could have been regularly seen in William Hearst's Newspaper. -
