    Defined assitive technology device as any item, equipment, or product that is used to improve functional capabilities of a child with a disability. Defined assitive technology services as any service that directly assists a child with accessing, selecting, or aquiring an assistive technology device.

    This law requires that assistive technology services will be considered for all children with an IEP no matter what the disability is. The IEP team will make the determination if assastive technology services is needed for the child. This law also requires that the schools provide the assistive technology device to the child and training to the child, teacher, and family.
