    Alfgeria is located in the northern part of Africa. It is divide into two regions, The coastal plain which is in the north and the sahara desert which is in the south part of algeria. These regions are seperated by the Atlas Mountains. The large towns of algeria are mostly located on the coast and the countrys agriculture would take place int he coastal plain. Algeria was controlled by the Ottoman Emire until it was invaded by France.

    France caused a lot of commotion when invading Algeria. They caused suffering among the Algerians by taking away resourses and land from them. Soon the French began to settle in Algeria and made up about 9% of Algerias population.

    This war was one of many long and bloody wars. It was fought by the algerians against French Imperialism. Algeria was ruled by France for 132 years. Algerians suffered povertyand discrimination which gave France a lot of money. This war ended with the victory of Algeria.

    After a long war the french finally decided to let go and sign the Treaty of Peace with the Algerians. Algeria became an independent state on July 5th 1962.
