  • arrive

    arrive
Arrive in Ellis island, scared, hungry, cold. Gonna find a job
Tomorrow so I can move out west to become a trapper. The city here smells of pigeons and sewage
  • relization of the jobs and their danger

relization of the jobs and their danger
Walking down the sidewalk when a man fell from 7 stories up Working on a skyscraper. It showed me how dangerous the jobs here are and the people that do these jobs bust their butt, but also really need the money for their family.
  • movin' out west

    movin' out west
Caught a train out of reading Pennsylvania and headed west of the Appalachians to start trapping and sending money back to new Zealand so my mom and dad can pay off the debts that they owe. The land here reeks motor oil, and textile mills.
  • trappin and money being made

    trappin and money being made
The trapping is really good in the pine forests of Colorado. I'm catching many foxes, wolves, beavers and other fur bearers. I have made at least 5 times what I was back in new Zealand, I am calculating about 500 dollars now that I am making when I was barely making 100.
  • decisions, decisions, decisions...

    decisions, decisions, decisions...
The woods is a place that holds many dangers from the indians to the wild animals that live there, but the money here is rich and abundunt in the hills. I think I will stay and make my living here, possibly move back to new zealand if the money ever begins to be few and far between.
