    • This event was important because it was based on the goal of helping the Cubans, when actually we wanted more territory, we started to think like an imperialistic nation

    • Filipinos into places where there was poor sanitation, starvation, and disease killed a lot of civilians
    • I think this was important because we acted against our own colony like an imperialistic nation would do, put them in camps and make them suffer

    Resentment toward the European powers built within China because they dominated their cities. The Boxers were one of the most famous groups to rebel. They were called boxers because them practicing matial arts. It changed the European opinion on us because of all of the soldier sent to help

    • Talked about the horrible working conditions that immigrants had to work in
    • Story of a family working to make end meet
    • I thought this was important because before, nobody knew this was a problem except the immigrants, and it actually lead to the Pure Food and Drug Act and Meat Inspection Act

    • Provoked because of the book The Jungle, revealed unsafe and unsanitary working condiitons
    • Called for truth in labeling and halted the sale of contaminated foods and medicines
    • Also called for cleanliness requirements for meatpackers
    • I think this was important because it made a lot more food edible and prevented numerous food poisonings and diseases

    The British Naval Blockade interfered with trade with Germany, so Germany countered with firing at anything moving near them. The Lusitania, holding 1198 people, 128 of them American, was sunk from German U-Boats firing at it. Because of this, the American opinion on Germany turned worse

The CPI gave out 75 million pamphlets, booklets, and leaflets. The campaign was highly effective, bringing in supporters from everywhere helping with finacial and moral needs
