    in the same year as alaska was purchased, hawaii was also bought. It was important because it had a lot of sugar crops. american farmers harvested sugar. This made hawwiian sugar production to go up nine times. they called for the U.S to annex islands so they wouldnt have to pay the duty.

It then exploded in the harbor of havana. more than 260 men were killed. It was important because it was what started the Spanish- american war even though no one really knows who blew the ship up.

    Boxer rebillions were a chinese secret society that pledged to rid the country of the europeans. the boxers killed hundreds of missionaries and other foreigners. they also killed chinese people that tried to turn to christianity. this was important because americans put down this rebellion. thousands of chinese people died. if not for the americans, lots of europeans would have died.

Austria- hungary declared war on serbia. then germany declred war on russia. then on france. then after germany invading belgium, britain declared war on germany and austria- hungary. it was important because just an assination caused the great war.

It was important because it was much more easier than just firing a machine gun mounted on your airplane than just opening your airplane and shooting the other planes with your pistol.
