    The Birth of explorer, Captain James Cook was on the 7th of November 1728. Captain Cook was going to take on a big role in colonising a new country.

    This date was the day Captain Arthur Phillip was born, was the day he didn't realise that he was going to become one of the most famous explorers in the world. He didn't realise that he was going to be a big role in colonising a new county.
  • Captain Cook arrived in Botany Bay

    Captain Cook arrived in Botany Bay
    Captain James Cook arrived in Botany Bay (Sydney) on the 19th of April 1770 on his boat The Endeavour, also bringing along 42 crew members. He arrived in Botany Bay and mapped Australia, so that Captain Arthur Phillip could find Australia and colonise it.

    Captain James Cook died on the 14th of Febuary 1779 in Hawaii while fighting a tribe of Hawaiins. Captain James Cook died at the age of 50, about 10 months away from turning 51. Captain James Cook was a big part in colonising Australia, as he was the one who found Australia and mapped it for Captain Arthur Phillip.

    On the 26th of January 1788, Captain Arthur Phillip and a group of officers and marines landed in Sydney Cove and raised the Union Jack to proclaim New South Wales as a colony. The first govenor of New South Wales was Captain Arthur Phillip.

    The death of Captain Arthur Phillip happened in Bath, England on the 31st of August in 1814, 26 years after colonisaing New South Wales. He died at the age of 76, it was only 1 month and 11 days until his Birthday. He died from old age. Captain Arthur Phillip colonised New South Wales, he was the one who started colonisation for Australia.

    The first British settlement on the island was made at Risdon in 1803 when Lieutenant John Bowen landed with about 50 settlers, crew, soldiers and convicts. The site was abandoned and in 1804 Lieutenant David Collins established a settlement at Hobart in February 1804. The first govenor was Charles Gairdner.

    The British province of South Australia was established in 1836, and in 1842 it became a crown colony. South Australia was never a British convict colony, although a number of ex-convicts settled there from other colonies. The first govenor of South Australia was Captain John.

    In 1851 Victoria seperated from New South Wales but in 1855 Victoria had the power to make it's own laws. The first governer was Charlse La Trobe.

    British settlers arrived in the region that became Queensland in the 1820s, first to a convict settlement at Moreton Bay (Brisbane) from 1824 and as free settlers from 1842. Public meetings requesting independence for what was then the Northern Districts of New South Wales were held in Brisbane from 1851. The first governer of Queensland was Charles Cochrane-Baillie.

    This day was the day that Australia federated all of it's colonies together, all of which belonging to colonisation.

    QANTAS became a formed Airline.
    On the 16th of November in 1920 QANTAS officially became a formed airline for Australia. Does not effect colonisation, only fun fact.

    13th of June 1923 was the day that Vegemite was first released in to the public domain. Not part of colonisation, just fun fact.

    On the 3rd of Febuary in 1938 was the day that Federal Capital Territory was renmaed to Australia Capital Territory.

    On 22nd of November in 1956 was the day that Melbourne started the first events of the 1956 olympics. Does not effect colonisation, just a fun fact.

    This was the day of an amazing win made by Australia in 1883, that was 31 years ago. Does not effect colonisation, just fun fact.
  • The Sydney Olympics are held!

    In 2000 15th of September was the day the first events were held in the Sydney Olympics, to games ended on the 1st of October. Does not effect colonisation, just fun fact.
