The Louisiana Purchase was when president Thomas Jefferson bought the Louisiana Territory from Napoleon the commander of France. This event is important because it doubled the size of the nation and gained control of the Mississippi river. -
The Lewis and Clark Journey
The Lewis and Clark journey was when two explorers traveled across the Louisiana Purchase land. They recorded over 300 plant and animal species that were unknown to the European Nation. They also made a map of the land so people have an accurate one. -
The Texas Revolution
The Texas Revolution is when Mexico and America went to war over Texas. For a few years Texas was it's own country and then America took control over it. -
The Donner Party
The Donner Party was when the family was traveling and they took a short cut. Turns out the clever short cut added 100 miles to the trip. They were lost throughout winter. They ate all of their previsions which led to them eating their animals. Eventually they got starved so bad once the people died they ate the people. Cannibalism!!! -
The California Gold Rush
The California Gold Rush was when people found gold in California and started mining. People all around the world heard and came to get some. People started fighting over gold. They started maiking business to make money. -
September 11, 2001 Terrorist Attack
This was a very sad day... 4 planes were set out to destroy important locations. The Pentagon, The White House, and The Twin Towers. The terrorist group was called al-Qaeda. They hit a section of the Pentagon, people on Flight 93 took charge and instead of hitting the White House it hit a field. They other two hit both Twin Towers. Both towers fell down. 2,996 people were killed 6,000 were injured. There is now a memorial at the field and where the Twin Towers used to stand. -
My Birthday
I was born on this day, my family celebrates it because they think I am special. The world was blessed on this day because I was here.
