Back in 1836, Mexico wanted Americans to colonize Texas. They said that we could send some people over and they could live here without having to pay taxes. After a little bit, the Texans wanted independence from Mexico. Mexico retaliated by starting a battle with the Texans. Mexico won the battle, but, they suffered far mre loss than the Texans did.
