Austin wrote "if his request weren't met he would support breaking away from the Mexican Rule". 1833, Texans went to Mexico and held up a flag and said "come and get it". The Mexicans failed, 6,000 troops went to Texas. -

In 1849, James Marshall had discovered gold in California. Luzena James wife went to California with her husband, she had made baked goods and people payed her with gold. She then found out that people came to California to dig gold and she got gold by helping the people get food. -
