    The Declaration of Independence
    The Declaration of Independence was written by Thomas Jefferson and is one of the most important documents in our history. It seperated the people from Britan and states the principles of government of how the government would be built. (United States History Cival War to the Present)
  • Eli Whitney and the Cotton Gin

    Eli Whitney and the Cotton Gin
    Eli Whitney invented a machine that cleaned cotton. This helped people clean cotton really fast. This was important to our history because it helped set a different course of development economically than the North. (McDougal-Little1,295)
  • Lewis and Clark Journey

    Lewis and Clark Journey
    Jefferson sent Lewis and Clark on a two year journey to find a water route linking river to river, and lant to land. He wanted this for access to port markets. This trip is important to us today because they fullfilled Jeffersons wish, and discovered more land. (McDougal-Little1,295)

  • Trail of Tears

    Trail of Tears
    Whites invaded the homlands of many Native Americans. Natives exchanged land and now own the Indian Territory. Cherokees were the Natives that were forced out of their homes by soliders, and had to journey a long way west in many harsh conditions. The Soliders moved them to the Indian Territory. This was important to our history because it was a very sad event and seperated Natives from their homes. (McDougal-Little1,295)
  • The Texas Revolution

    The Texas Revolution
    The war against the Mexicans began in 1833 over the land the Texans had taken over. About 6,00 troops of Mexicans headed over to Texas and fought them. In 1836 the Texans raised the flaf of the independece nation. Thiis was important because after that, they became a part of the U.S.A. (McDougal-Little1,295)
  • The Alamo

    The Alamo
    The Battle of the Alamo was a very harsh battle. It all started because of the Texas Revolution. Soliders were protecting the Alamo for 12 days, and a lot of Mexicans had fallen and seven Texans were dead. This was important to our history because it killed many and allowed Texans to move.   • The Donner Party

    The Donner Party
    On April 16th of 1846, The Donner Party was taking a 2500 mile trip to California. They made it through a lot of harsh weather and ranges, except for a really bad snow storm. It was so bad, that whenb people died, the people that were left ate the dead. THis lasted for a little time, but only a few survived.     The war against Mexico all started when a Mexican unit crossed a piont and came after the American Patrol. America forces invaded Mexico from two locations. This is important because, It gave America and expansion of the nation. (McDougal-Little1,295)

    The attack of Fot Sumter was the reason there was a Cival War for no slaves and equal rights. The first five shots were shot ther ,however, no one was killed.     In 1884, 250,000 people emerged to California in search of gold. They all found that there was water in the streams, and they fought and raced to their destinations. This caused a lot of revolution. It was important to our history because so many coming caused economic growth that permanetly made California different. (McDougal-Little 1,295)

    The Titanic is a great movie and also a great story. The Titanic was a very large cruise ship that hit an iceburg and sunk. This is important to us because we now know how to build ships properly.

    A girl named Linda was an African America 7 year old. She lived near a white kid school, but was not allowed to attend it and had to go miles to attend a black children school. An organization helped and sued so she did't have to go far. They went to courtand discussed the issue.. The court decided that the schools should not be seperate.   • September 11, 2001 Attack

    September 11, 2001 Attack
    On September 11th, 2001 a very sad and tragic thing happened. The twin towers were destroyed by terrorist. A plane came down and hit the towers; they were filled with people and went down burning in flames. We regonize all of the hundreds of people that went and tried to help people inside the building, and remember the ones who didn't make it out. Many outside the building were sufficated by all of the smoke coming off the falling buildings.
