  • The Declaration of Independence

    The Declaration of Independence
    This day we declared our freedom form Great Britain. We sent this to them and we defended our country from them when they attacked. This is important because now wwe are free and we live in a domacracy where we can do what we want.
  • Lousiana Purchase

    Lousiana Purchase
    Representatives from the United States and France met for the selling of the land of what is now called Louisiana. This is important to remember because this is one of the time when the United States spread its prosperity.
  • Lewis and Clark Journey

    Lewis and Clark Journey
    A group of explorers and Lewis and Clark were trying to find new species and make a map of the west of America. they also met indians on the way and expanded the United States. this is important to remember because we expanded America and we don't always fight indians in the past.
  • Trail of Tears

    Trail of Tears
    The Trail of Tear was a time where our government was oppressing the Native americans and took away their lande. This made the Native Americans angry and many of them died during the relocation. This is important to remember because we never want our government to oppress people ever again. Orange Book pages 403-407
  • Texas Revolution

    Texas Revolution
    Many American settlers and some Mexican settlers were living under Mexican rule. The Americans didn't like that so they were about to have a revolution due to this Mexico decided to put taxes on the Texans. When there leader went and told them the requests they asked for they put him in jail and war broke out. In the end the Texans won and got there independence. This is importaant to remember because if you try your hardest you can overcome the biggest obstacles. Pages 427-431 Orange Book
  • The Alamo

    The Alamo
    During the Alamo the Texans were fighting for their independence from Mexico. It didn't matter what race you were just if you were fighting for the Alamo. In the end Everyone that was protecting the Alamo did die, but they never gave up. It is important to remember to never give up.
  • The Donner Party

    The Donner Party
    The Donner party were a group of pioneers heading west. They thought that they had found a shortcut, but it actually wasn't. They were trapped in five feet of snow and sixty foot snowdrifts. Over the weeks they were stranded they ate all of their rations and thier horses. When the first few people died off the rest had to survive. They resorted to cannibalism only eating the dead.   • Mexican American War

    Mexican American War
    The waar started over a dispute between Texas and Mexico. Texas became a part of the United States and texas was having a dispute with Mexico about where its border was. American soldier went o the bank of the Rio Grande River. Then Mexicans came and shed blood which was an act of war. America won the war taking control of Texas, California, and New Mexico. This is important to remember because if you keep messing with something it will eventually fight back. Pages 433-437 Orange Textbook

    The California Gold Rush
    The Gold Rush started when the first person saw gold. Thousands of different people(enslaved or not) went to come get rich. The population in California grew so much that it was admitted to become a state. California abolishe dslavery whent it was a state and many former slaves got to buy their families with the money from mining. This is importsnt to remember because many different cultures got together and prospered. Pages 439-443
  • The Attack on Fort Sumter

    The Attack on Fort Sumter
    This was apart of the civil war. Over 4003 gun bombarded Fort Sumter.After many days of intense battle the fort surrendered. Then the civil war strated, and the north won freeing the slaves and avenging their fallen allies at Fort Sumter
  • The Supreme Case: Brown v The Board of Education

     The Supreme Case: Brown v The Board of Education
    A young black girl named Linda Brown was denied to go to a school five blocks away from her house because it was a white school and she had to walk five blocks to a bus stop that took her 21 blocks from her house. Brown took the school to court and won. She and her attorney helped end segregation in schools and made it so no one would be classified in such schools.
  • Independance of Jamaica

    Independance of Jamaica
    At first Jamiaca was ruled by th spanish. Many Jaimacans had to live under that rule until the british took over. Then in 1962 Jamaica claimed its full independance. This is important to remember because this reminds people that anyone can be free and live their life.
  • The day Martin Luther King Jr. Died

    The day Martin Luther King Jr. Died
    After his popularity grew African Americans started to gain more rights. Some people didn't like this and blaimed him. Then one fateful day someone came and shot him. This day is important to remember because he had a dream. Today his dream is a reality and this tells us that if you try hard enough you can make your dreams a reality

    The Death of Elvis
    He died at the age of 42. He died of a drug overdose do to what his dentist prescribed him. It is important to remember this because he inspired many of our singer today and he also was the king of rock.
