    These were the first modern humans to ever be found in the what is now the Iberian Peninsula. They were thought to have lived all the way back to 40,000 years ago and we can prove this today by the fact that we have cave paintings from 15,000-9000 b.c. in Almatira today.

    Iberians 1600 B.C.
    They came in from North Africa and they conquered all along the east coast and the southern valleys of Spain and dominated that area. They started mining silver and gold in different parts of Spain and thier leaders started to wear them as "jewelery". They created monuments and adapted thier language from Phonecian.

    This culture came in from the north through the Pyranees and blended with the Iberian culture. They gave many interesting new ideas in the Spain area. Supposeovely the Celcts helped record Spanish history becasue this is about the time that thier history started to be recorded.

    They came to Spain becasue they were interested in the trading of copper, tin, gold, and silver. Phoenician influence went down through the south which blended in some middle-eastern culture. After going through a battle they only survived in Cadiz, Malaca, and Malaga, and stayed there.

    After being kicked out of Sicily in Rome the Carthagians went over to Spain. This created a lot of problems for the spanish people because they did not want them thier to take over everything. The Carthagians started the Punic War and many others along the east side of Spain.

    The conflicts between poor and rich romans brought many roman settlers over to Spain. War went on between romans and spainards and the romans kept winning and earning more land in Spain. They took over the Iberian peninsula. The romans built many roads and bridges to increase thier traveling across Spain and many of them still remain today. There are also many other monuments in Spain that still exist such as towers, churches, amphitheaters, and much more. The romans mixed in many new traditions

    They had came to Spain in a group of 5 or 6 million but rapidly decreased due to the desinigration of legoins. This is around the time where citizen training at arms had been discontinued.

    The Visigoths had come into Spain from the Pyrenees and defeated the north-eastern romn empire with only 200,000. The romans eventually had a treaty with the Visigothians but they no longer had an empire along the east side of Spain.

    The Spanish asked the Muslims from North Africa to come help them fight against the Visigoths, and that is how they frist came to Spain. By 718 they were already incorporated in Spanish culture and the Spanish into thiers.
