    Great Britain fighting in war with the French and Indians. The French were trading with the Indians in North America and Great Britain did not like that. They started to tax us on the war

    The sugar Act
    Coffee, indigo,and some of the wines had taxes which were all different. The people wanted a say in how much the taxes were going up. They weren’t able to buy what they needed.

    The colonist didn’t want to pay for a stamp and that they thought it should be free like it was for many years. Sons of liberty was formed to respond to the act.

    They had to buy a stamp for every newspaper and pamphlet that they got for free for many years. The British repealed it after the diplomatic body called the stamp act congress.

    Glass, paper, paints, lead and tea all got taxed, later they took the taxes off of everything except for the tea. The colonist were not happy and Great Britain sent more troops over.

    No one knew who fired first and it was heard around the world. The first shots fired was by the Americans and the British troops. The Americans did not want them there to tell them what to do.

    They met when the revolutionary war started. That summer they made the Declaration of Independence and the armed forces were disorganized. Wanted to be more organized and have freedom away from Great Britain.

    He was the first president and did two terms. He fought with the British in the French and Indian war. He retired so that he could go back to the lifestyle before the wars started and be with his wife.

    It helped to protect the shipyard near Boston. The British attacked and took out the hill and lost a lot of people. They were trying to protect the people in Boston and try to save the towns.

    The main contribution was writing. It inflamed the population for American and furthered the Revolutionary cause. More people were moving over to America.

    The ships came in with canons and Dorchester Heights which overlooked the city to the south. They left so that they would not all get killed.

    Richard Henry Lee proposes Independence
    He proposed that their should be independence for the colonies. He wanted something better for the colonies where they could be independence and freedom.

    13 colonies became independent from Great Britain on July 4, 1776. Great Britains action to was to stay in war. It gave people freedom and Independence for them and not have a king.

    Many People signed the Declaration of Independence and few people that did was John Adams, John Hancock,and Samuel Adams also written by Thomas Jefferson. They wanted to be their own country but have states where they would come with their own rules in their state.
