    Struggles physically to get back on track after being sick. Overcomes the challenge by working two times harder than ever before.
  • Family's Disease History

    Finds out about his family's health disease of lung cancer and begins to do things that would prevent it- such as: not smoking, avoiding secondhand smoke, eat a full fruit and veggie diet, and excersizing.
  • Health Goal

    After learning about the famiy disease and making plans on how to prevent it, he thinks about keeping a healthy life overall. Starting the proccess by planning to achieve it by making a pledge to stay abstinent, eat healthy, excersize, etc.
  • Abstinence Pledge

    Talks to mom about his 3 goals and hos to stay abstinent. She tells him that when he gets into a relationship that he should talk to his girlfriend about staying abstinent, plan ahead, and to be careful where the date is at.

    Siblings grown up enough to live by themselves and move away. Physically changed because he's the only child still with his parents and there's no way to contact the others, leaving him as the only one to help mother collect food. A coping method begins in which he begins to drift to thoughts other than the siblings and using various objects to control his emotions.

    Friend begins drinking on the weekends and begins to worry about some of the effects like bad decision making, becoming more violent, craving more of the drink, and a risk of death.

    Takes keys away from now alcoholic friend, tells friend that drinking and driving kills, and that he needs to stop drinking or he can't drive.

    Worried about relative getting Chronic Bronchitis, Emphysema, and/or lung cancer

    Feels like it's his fault during the emotional release stage and goes into solitude during the depression stage
  • Puberty

    Mental changes like increasing memory and cognition occur, At the same time, physical changes occur, such as developing sex characteristics and permanent teeth.
