    The National Farmers Union, "advocated for increased co-operative rights, fair market access for farmers, direct election of senators and voting rights for women." This is important to Ag because they work to sustain the wellbeing and quality of life for farmers all around.

    Hog Cholera was a devastating ultramicroscopic disease that affected pigs and led to lots of losses for farmers. This was important to Ag because the eradication of this disease led to a safer and healthier caring for pigs all around.

    Congress passed the first the first federal food and drugs act in 1906, giving the agency regulatory powers to keep americans safe from unsafe foods and drugs. This is important to ag because the FDA regulates crops produced by farmers to keep humans and animals safe.

    The Japanese Beetles were one of the country's most destructive insects. They destroyed the leaves, blossoms, and fruits of more than 275 plants, shrubs, and trees. This was important to Ag because this was one of the first large scale insect invasion to inflict farmers but it led to insecticides and other things that would keep farms safe now.
