Apr 14, 1736 1736- King Kamehameha the first is born. Jan 1, 1778 1778- Captain Cook anchors in Waimea bay, Kawaii. Apr 14, 1794 1794- Hawaii is placed under protection by Britain. Apr 14, 1810 The uniting of the islands by Kamehameha in 1810. Apr 14, 1813 The pineapple/coffee industry takes off in 1813. Apr 14, 1820 In 1820 American missionaries came to spread Christianity. Apr 14, 1826 Hawaii and the United States sign peace treaty in 1826. Apr 14, 1835 1835 - First Sugarcane plantation started. This is very important because it is the start of a very big trade product that Hawaii is able to produce.
