The industrial revolution was when advances in agricultural, industrial, and technological greatly improved the life standard in Britain. Because of this, the birth rate increased, less people were needed in rural areas and most flocked to London. But in the rush of immigration, all of the opportunities were taken leaving many to live on the streets and have children to work in the factories and mills. In that influx of births the need for food was greater creating more need for food production.

When the first Europeans arrived in Australia, they often tried to push their ideologies onto the local aboriginals who frequently didn't understand the settlers beliefs of a higher presence. Because of this most were thought of being a lesser people and treated cruelly for it. When the aboriginals fought back, martial law was declared and the aboriginals were rounded in camps. To the aboriginals this appeared like genocide, to the British it was cleansing the population. -
in late 1815, Napoleon Bonaparte, surrendered at the battle of Waterloo with the surprising arrival of the Prussian army. this overwhelming force combined with the low morale of the troops caused him to retreat to Paris then be exiled to saint Helena where he died. this relates to significance because of the shift in power to Britain when France, the last threat in the way of Britain was wiped out, leaving them to control most of europe.

in the 1800s ned Kelly was one of the most wanted if not the most famous bushrangers in Australia. he was known for his shootouts.in October 1878, ned snuck up on several police officers. according to ned he took them by surprise and asked them to lay down their weapons when they fired on him, he shot and killed three of the police while one escaped on a horse. this event is highly contested because of the biased perspective of ned himself and the family of one of the dead officers.

in the 1800's Europe controlled almost all of Africa, with France and Britain controlling most. Otto von Bismarck, the first chancellor of Germany proposed the agreement that the continent have trade routes like the west with rivers like the Congo being open to any traffic or trade. Before this most of the Congo was controlled by the Belgian tyrant Leopold the second. This refers to continuity because it signified the change in imperialism from private to state owned. -
in 1900, many Chinese citizens were tired of the western and other country's influence. because of this, a group called the society of the righteous and harmonious fist rose up against their European oppressors. they lost when the countries united and subdued the insurgents. as a result Beijing's walls were to be torn down and china was to pay 330 million for the damages. this relates to empathy because of the sympathy china attracts because of there helplessness.

when the Anzacs were deployed in world war one to turkey, the Anzac mounted division attacked the town of Beersheba for its crucial water depots and railway lines to Gaza. the horses jumped the trenches and took the town with relative ease. this event is important because of the contesting evidencethat debates on how the battle was won so easily
