Ghost of Tom Joad Song After searving a 4 year sentence, Tom Joad is given parole.

Tom recieves a ride from a truck driver. The truck driver drops Tom off near his family's farm. While walking to his family's farm he meets Reverend Casy. Tom and Casy surprise his family. They reveal to Tom that they are leaving to California the next day to find work because their farm has been repossessed.

With all of their belongings the Joad family leave from Oklahoma on Route 66 and head towards California.

Grandpa gets sick and dies while they are traveling. Grandpa is buried on the side of the road.

Grandma dies as they are approaching the California stateline.

The Joad Family crosses the boarder into California. They cross the boarder with the corpse of Grandma in the car. They are immediately met with hostility in California.

The eldest Joad son, Noah decides to leave the group, as well as Rose's husband.

The Joad Family go to the Hooverville Camp. The conditons of the camp are terrible.

The Joad Family arrive at the Weedpatch Camp. This is a nice and clean governtment facility.

Tom gets a job working for a pipe-laying company.

The Joads are forced to leave the nice government facility because there's not enough work in the area.

The Joad Family find a new job picking fruit.

Tom randomly runs into Casy one day. Casy has been organizing workers to fight for better working conditions in California.

The police have been searching for Casy. They find him one night beat him to death. Tom retaliates and kills a policeman.

The next morning Tom's family finds out what happnened and tells Tom to go into hiding.

The Joads transfom an old boxcar into a new home and start working on a cotton farm.

Tom's Final Speech Ruthie tells another child that her older brother, Tom, killed a man. Ma fears that Tom will get caught and tells him to run far away. Before Tom goes away he gives a final speech. You can listen to it above.
