  • Sea Plane

    This was the first plane to fly and land on water. Invented by, Henri Fabre. This plane was made to rescue the forces in the water, and needed assistance.
  • Idaho Big Burn

    The Great Fire, also known as the Big Burn or the Big Blowup, began as a forest fire. By the time it was contained and put out, the fire had burned nearly three million acres of land throughout three different states – Idaho, Montana and Washington. More than 80 people were killed and it is often called the worst fire in the nation’s history.
  • First Auto Electric Start

    This made cars able to then start without turning a lever to get it to go. This caused many several small injuries. The first one was put into a Cadillac- made by GM.
  • Indianapolis 500

    The first ever Indianapolis 500 was ran at 74.59 MPH. Around 60,000 people came to watch this event happen in front of their own eyes.
  • Girl Scouts

    Girl Scouts of America was founded, bringing young girls closer and teaching them important things for their future. Starting out in Savannah, Georgia is now located all over USA.
  • Sinking of the Titanic

    The Titanic was the largest ship for tourists. This ship could hold 2,435 passengers. And was defined as "unsinkable". The ship then went off on its First Trip, sinking 5 days after take off. Losing around 1,500 accountable people.

    Life Saver is the hard fruity candy. The candy most of you all had when you were just a child. Some of you still pop one in your mouth occasionally. Hard to believe that these colorful candies been on this world for over 100 years.
  • First Stainless Steal

    This stopped excessive wear on metals, which made them last longer. They looked better, and worked a lot better as well. They were lighter, not rusted, and effective. It was first found on a barrel of a British man's rifle?
  • The 16th Amendment

    The 16th Amendment gave the government the right to collect taxes no matter the amount. This was good for the government, but it could affect the people bad if the government got way to greedy. But it helps the country get out of debt and aid their own country better. This also helps pay for a better Military which protects the people paying these taxes.
  • The 17th Amendment

    This was made from the elections of the Senates. At first they were elected by Legislature, and now they are elected by the citizens of USA.
  • Zipper

    Was known as the "clasp locker". This invention helped many people then and now from being super hot on a warm day, and helped warm them up on a cold day. When it was warm they could simply unzip their clasp locker, and obviously zip it up on a cool day. This invention made a lot of people's life more comfortable.
  • First Crossword Puzzle

    All the bored times in the 19 teens, was all gone with this one crazy invention; crossword puzzle. This gave people a way to waste time and also keep their mind active. So they also got a really nice sleep that night from all the hard work their brain had done.
  • Ford Raises Minimum Wage from $2.34 to $5 a day

    Many People only made $2.34 a day, which got them buy but made them struggle. Doubling how much they made let them buy wants and more needs. This also helped the economy flow by letting them buy more.
  • First Income Tax

    The people had to pay taxes on annual pay of $3,000. This helped the government fight in the war, and in the long run give back to the people. Which only around 4% of people had to pay this tax.
  • USS Oklahoma Battleship

    Made in 1911, released to defend the country in 1916, was the first oil-burning battleship. Before this they just burnt straight coal. This was a game changer for them and protected the country just perfectly. But sadly 30 years later, during the frightening attack on Pearl Harbor by Japan, it damaged the boat. They couldn't repair it, so the government had to sadly sell it for salvage.
  • Start of WWI

    The Alliances took action at this time against the Central Powers. At the time this was known as the "Great War' then WW2 occurred, making it WWI. At the time this was the start to one of the worst things in World History.
  • Federal Trade Commision

    This was made to protect the consumer from any problems that might occur to him/her. This Act was appreciated by every citizen, they then felt safe to spend their money and make the economy active.
  • First Transcontinental Telephone Call

    This call made people in California able to talk to people in New York. This helped with business and just families to keep in contact with each other.
  • Creating the U.S Coast Guard

    The United States need something to protect to their bay, and the sea at the same time. The Congress combined Revenue Cutter Service and the United States Life-Saving Service, to create the Coast Guard.
  • Lusitania Sunk

    This ship was the next Titanic, it held 2,198 passengers. The first trip it had it was struck by a German torpedo. Luckily the ship was only 11 miles from the Irish coast that it departed from. 1,198 people were killed at this tragic event. Yet also a lot of people got out and a lot of help could reach them a lot faster.
  • 19th Amendment

    The 19th Amendment gave all women the right to vote. This evened the playing field, and made women have a voice in the world they lived in.
  • Suffrage Movement

    At this time women could not vote, and many women fought for their rights to vote. This was known at the "Suffrage Movement". The first civil protest was in New York, around 25,000 women moved up fifth avenue. While they were walking down the road many men were calling them outrageous names. Eventually all the men attacked the women causing a riot. Of course the protestors were blamed for this sadly.
  • Tommy Gun

    The Thompson Submachine Gun is known as the "Tommy Gun". This gun was made in 1918 during WW1. This gun also was a signature for different brutal crimes.
  • Band Aid

    The Band Aid helped several people from getting infections in their wounds. Helped from getting blood everywhere. The Band Aid helped people from hefty doctor bills. Yet it didn't stop all the bleeding but did stop from infections.
  • Ford introduces the Assembly Line

    The assembly line made ford cars be able to produced faster than ever before. They were making a full functioning car every 2.5 minutes.
