In 1211, Khan's army attacked the Jin Dynasty in northern China because of its rice fields and wealth. This campaign lasted for nearly 20 years.

The leader of the Khwarizm Dynasty, Shah Muhammad, killed a Mongol diplomat. After this happened, Khan set up a plan to attack this dynasty and in 1221 Shah Muhammad and his son were killed, which brought the dynasty to and end.

On August 18, 1227 Genghis Khan died after never fully recovering from his internal injuries from getting thrown off a horse.
