  • the first recorded sound

    Édouard-Léon Scott de Martinville invent the phonautograph this is a device that can not play back, however it is able to track sound waves. this was made so people could visualise sound.
  • the first micraphone and phonograph

    the first working microphone was invented by Emily Berliner.
    the phonograph was invented by Thomas Edison in 1877 the same year as the microphone and was the first device able to actually reproduce a recorded sound.
  • first flat record player

    the first flat record player was invented by a German inventor in 1887 called Emile Berliner. these flat record was originally made of zinc, glass then eventually tuff rubber.
  • jukebox

    invented by Luis glass a coin operated machine and was created in san Francisco. it was developed from the phonograph.
  • flat disk

    Eldredge Johnson found a way to mass produce flat disks that have been pre recorded.
  • double side phonograph records

  • the invention of stereophonic sound recorded

    stereophonic technology was invented by Alan Blumlein at EMI. now stereophonic sound is one of the most common was we listen to music. stereophonic sound is used in movies,tv shows and cds. Alan Blumlein invented this as a way to hear sound follow and actor in a movie.
  • multi track recording

    this was developed by ross Snyder. it used one-inch tape and it was an 8 track machine. the 8 track recorder was eventually sold to an American guitarist.
