    Passed by Congress June 4,1919 and ratified on August 18, 1920. The 19th amendment guarantees all American women the right to vote. Achieving this milestone required a lengthy and difficult struggle, victory took decades of agitation and protest.

Women’s unequal legal rights increase their vulnerability to violence. In many countries in the region, no specific laws or provisions exist to penalize domestic violence, even though domestic violence is a widespread problem.

    UN Women Goodwill Ambassador Emma Watson launched the campaign called "HeForShe." She wanted to discussed with everyone about Gender Equality. " I am reaching out to you because I need your help. We want to end gender inequality- and to do that we need everyone to be involved", she said. That was some part of the speech she gave while making her apperance at the United Nations Headquarters in New York,

    Hilary Clinton opened a gender equality event at the Clinton Global Foundation in New York by calling equal rights for women and girls the " great unfinished businees of 21st Century"

    Prominent male and female leaders come together at the Pacific Views Event Center aboard Marine Base Camp Pendleton, California. They were there to discuss key topics and gender equality at a womens leadership symposium. Master Sgt Diane Sharp spoke about the importance of every Marine's role in imrpoving gender equality in all aspects of the Marine Corps. Sgt Simmons says that women have come very far in life, but they still have ways to go.
