    The Boston Tea Party was a protest to the Tea Act. The Sons of Liberty dressed up as Native Americans and dumped imported tea into the Boston Harbor. It’s an iconic event because it was when America decided to fight back and show Britain that they were tired of being controlled and taxed. Eventually, this led to the Revolutionary War.

    Reconstruction was the time period after the Civil War, where the rebel states had to clean up and rejoin the US. This was important because it made sure that the South to recover and give freed slaves rights.

    The 13th Amendment abolished slavery in the United States. This is important because the reason the Confederacy wanted to secede was because they wanted to keep their slaves. Abolishing slavery proved that the Union had won and brought America back together.
