Homosexuals seen as a threat
Dwight. D Eisenhower signed an executive order saying that gay people were not allowed to work federal jobs because they were seen as a threat. -
Homosexuality is legal in Illinois
Illinois is now the first state in which being gay is legal. -
Banning same sex marriage
President Clinton bans federal recognition of same sex marriage. -
Supreme Court has their say
In Lawrence v. Texas the Supreme Court decriminalizes being homosexual which reverses Bowers v. Hardwick -
First same sex marriage
The first same sex marriage happens in the United States -
Gay men and women in the army
Ban is repealed which allows men and women to serve in the armed forces. -
Transgenders in the military
Trump signs a law banning most transgenders from being able to register in the armed forces. -
Prediction
I think that as time goes on people will be more open to people of the LGBTQ community which in turn will give them more rights. I think this will just take some time but I think it will definitely happen. -
