Begining in September of 1918, an unsually deadly form of the influenza, or flu, virus, appeared. Research later showed this virus originated from a bird flu that mutated to spread to humans. Once the virus began it spread like wildfire, killing millions worldwide.

Hundreds of Japanese planes poured through a break in the clouds into the central valley of Oahu. They torpedoed the moored ships. American military forces caught by suprise attempted to ward off the attack but with little effect. The scene was utter destruction.
