    the French and Indian War determined who out of the Britains and the French got to have the northern American land. when Britain won they were in a lot of fo debt from the war to even it out they charged the colonists tons of money in taxes which led to the colonist becoming rightly upset and demanding independence from Britain.

    The Sugar Act also known as the American Revenue Act was an act passed by the British to accumulate money to pay off their debts from the war. To do this they increased the price of sugar and molasses which they were importing from non-British Caribbean sources. The colonist where upset and protested.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act was passed On March 22, 1765, and taxed colonists for every single page of printed paper they used. the act resulted in violent protests from the colonists stating that they did not want to be taxed without representation.
  • Declaratory Act

    Declaratory Act

    The Declaratory Act was passed in 1766 following the release of the stamp act and basically stated that the British parliament could do whatever they want and so they continued taxing the colonist without representation. this trapped the colonist into continuing to pay and they saw it as disgraceful and were upset
  • Townshend Act

    Townshend Act

    The Townshend Act taxed the colonists for glass, lead, paint, paper, and tea. Again the colonist was still mad act by act they got increasingly upset.
  • Tea Act

    The Tea Act basically gave all tea trade and delivery to the East India Tea Company. this was also meant to help the British get out of debt. again taxation without representation = mad colonists

    this is when the colonists finally break and decide they are going to take the British to war and take back not only their rights but also their land, and so they did.
