    Hundred Year's War
    The hundred years war was a very long and hard war fought between the French and the English in the 1300's. The war had many influencial and important French figures appear during its time. The war was important because it was a large and drawn out war that had many exchanges of land and power and helped France establish its government more permentently with more power over the country.

    7 Years War
    The 7 Years war was between France and Britain. The two countries both wanted control over the Americas and Africa as well as othe rplaces for resources and power. France and Britain both had many allies and the fight went on for a long time. France lost the war and had to give Britain territory. The war was important because France lost some of its colonies when many European countries were fighting for more land.

    The French revolution greatly affected France and much of modern history because the rule of monachies and kings and queens decreased from the poverthrow in France. The revolution started for many reasons like France's debt and many taxes to try and help get rid of the debt. The revolution established a democratic republic in France. The event was important because it changed the government and how the entire country operated.

    Coup of 18 Brumaire
    The event happened when war general and future emperor Napolean Boneparte lep a coup to overthrow the French Directory to replace it with a consulte of his own choosing. The Directory was completely crushed after Napolean became emperor and the Consulate took over power.

    Lasting from 1803 to 1815, The emporer of France, Napoleon Boneparte, led a large amount of battles against European powers. These conflicts made France's power greatly rise as Napoleon's armies conquered much of Europe. The wars were important to French history because they gained the country land and power in Europe and a strong leader.

    Napolean Crowned Emperor
    General Napolean Boneparte who was a hero in battle and an excellent military leader crowned himself Emperor of France after he led the voctory over many of the other strong European nations. Napolean was in charge of winning many wars and battles for France and was an important person in France's history because he was very liked for his battlefield success and because he gained France a lot of power.

    Russia declared war on France and Britain in 1853 starting the Crimean War. The conflict happened mostly for religious reasons because Russia backed the Orthdox Christians and France backed the Catholics. The war was important to France because they were involved in the war and because it established French Catholic beliefs.

    The Eiffel Tower is a towering symbol of France and was build in 1889 by Alexandre Gustave Eiffel for the World Fair that was being held in France that year. The Eiffel Tower brings many tourists to France and is a large symbol of what France is. The Eiffel Tower is important to the history of France because it is the most visited paid monument in the world and is a symbol of France.

    World War II
    World War ll was a major event in Europe. The Nazi party in Germany took control of Germany and persecuted Jews and invaded Poland. France and other countries fought agaisnt the Nazis but they invaded France and took over France as well. The Allied forces later drove the Nazis out of France and freed the country. This event was very important to FRance because it was a difficult time in their history with the rule of another country as well as the bonds between France and the Allied countries.

    France Joins the UN (United Nations)
    France became a part of the United nations in 1945 on October 24th as a result after World War ll ended. Many countries including France did not want another massive war across Europe and formed the United Nations. The event was important because it helped strengthen relationships between nations in Europe including France.
