"I remained, while the storm lasted, watching it's progress with curiosity and delight.' (pg.40) At 15 years old, Victor witnessed a storm which delighted him.

Victor discovers the power of electricity

"On this occasion a man of great research in natural philosophy was with us, and excited by this catastrophe, he entered on the explanation of a theory which he had formed on the subject of electricity and galvanism, which was at once new and astonishing to me." (pg.40) Victor is discovering great knowledge about electricity which catches his attention leading to him deciding to create the creature.

Victor's memorable day

"Thus ended a day memorable to me: it decided my future destiny." (pg.48) Now, Victor tells us that this day has decided what he is going to accomplish in the future.

Elizabeth sick

"Elizabeth had caught scarlet fever: her illness was severe" (pg.42) This quote explains that Elizabeth had become very ill. Her illness lead to death eventually.

Victor; in two years

"Two years passed in this manner, during which I paid no visit to Geneva, but was engaged, heart and soul, in the pursuit of some discoveries which I hoped to make." (pg.49) The quote explains how committed Victor was to creating the monster.

Overpowering ambition

"I had obtained was of a nature rather to direct my endeavors so soon as I should point them towards the object already accomplished." (pg.51) Victor had strong ambition towards his creation leading to it becoming overpowering.

Victor returns to Geneva

Victor was long waiting to come back to Geneva to see his family and friends, in the process, he describes the season, winter.

Victor's experiences nature

Victor vividly describes his experiences with nature, describing it as something very sensational to him and delightful.

William is Murdered

"William is dead! That sweet child, whose smiles delighted and warmed my heart, who was so gentle, yet so gay! Victor, he is murdered!" (pg.69) The quote describes how unfortunate the loss of William was and Victor finding out.

Victor sees his creature

"...its gigantic stature, and the deformity of its aspect, more hideous than belongs to humanity, instantly informed me that it was the wretch, the filthy demon to whom I had given life." (pg.73) Victor is describing what he sees as his creation of the monster is brought to life.

Justine is Executed

"I wish that I were to die with you; I cannot live in this world of misery." (pg. 84) Justine explains she would rather die than spend life in prison knowing she did nothing wrong.

Victor feels responsible for William and Justine's death

"I beheld those I loved spent vain sorrow upon the graves of William and Justine, the first hapless victims to my unhallowed arts." (pg. 85) Since Victor created the monster and is what caused William and Justine's death, he feels all the guilt is upon himself because it was his creation that started it all.

Victor and his family go to Belrive

"It was during an access of this kind that I suddenly left my home, and bending my steps towards the near Alpine valleys, sought in the magnificence, the eternity of such scenes, to forget myself and my sphemeral, because human sorrows", (page 89-90). The quote provides an explanation of how it felt for Victor to go to Belrive.

Victor thinks about killing himself

Victor Follows The Monster Into the Mountains

This quote tells the reader that Victor was going to listen to what the monster had to say to him.

Meets The Monster

"I perceived, as the shape came nearer (sight tremendous and abhorred!) that it was the wretched whom I had created." (pg.94)
Victor is describing how horrifying it was to first see his creation, and how he reacted.

Story is Started

"It is with considerable difficulty that I remember the original era of my being; all the events of that period appear confused and indistinct. " (pg.98) This quote provides information about how the person had felt about starting the story.

Monster Meets the Family

"Night quickly shut in, but to my extreme wonder, I found that the cottages had a means of prolonging light by the use of tapers, and was delighted to find that the setting of the sun did not put an end to the pleasure in watching my human neighbors." (pg. 104) This quote explains that the monster was rejected by the family living in the cottage and became very upset by this.

The monster expresses emotion to Victor

"I will soon explain to what these feelings tended, but allow me now to return to the cottagers..." (pg.116) The monster is expressing how he feels about the cottagers in the way that he wants to be friends with them before doing anything else.

Safie arrives at the cottage

"It was a lady on horseback, accompanied by a country-man as a guide... [she] responded only by pronouncing, in a sweet accent, the name of Felix." (pg.111)

The creature learns to speak properly

The monster's feelings with Safie's backstory

"The government of France was greatly enraged at the escape of their victim and spared no pains to detect and punish his deliver. The plot of Felix was quickly discovered, and De Lacey and Agetha were thrown into prison." (pg.120) This explains how the monster had felt about Safie.

When Victor sees Henry dead

"How can I describe my sensations on beholding it? I feel yet parched with horror, nor can I reflect on that terrible moment without shuddering and agony." (pg.169) This quote talks about when Victor shows his feelings of terror when Henry's dead body is presented to him; he was killed by the creature.

Victor gets charged for a murder, but he's innocent

"But I was doomed to live; and in 2 months, found myself as awaking from a dream, in a prison" (pg.169) This quote explains how the society didn't give Victor a chance to plead innocent. Victor was assumed guilty.

Walton and his crew continuing further northward to search for the monster
