The 1993 World Trade Center bombing was a terrorist assault on New York City's World Trade Center on February 26, 1993. A truck bomb exploded beneath the complex's North Tower. A gas-enhanced bomb was designed to collide the North and South Towers, bringing them down and killing tens of thousands of people. It did not succeed, but it did murder six people, including a pregnant mother.

The most significant tornado first touched down southwest of Chickasha, Oklahoma, and became an F5 before dissipating near Midwest City. The tornado tore through southern and eastern parts of Oklahoma City and its suburbs of Bridge Creek, Moore, Del City, Tinker Air Force Base and Midwest City, killing 36 people, destroying more than 8,000 homes, and causing $1.5 billion in damage. With a total of 72 tornadoes, it was the most prolific tornado outbreak in Oklahoma history.
