    Talks about experience on the mountain. Then he exsplains his journey to finding more out about the people on the famous Iwo Jima picture
  • Papes 31-55

    In pages 31-55, the author explains his fathers life before the war. He talks about how he got drafted. Also, it talks about his love life.

    These pages talk about the early parts of the war. They also explain the different situations of the countries fighting. It talks about the countries allies and enemies.
  • Pages 91-120

    These pages talk about the different training camps the soulders went to. It talks about the challenges these soulders had to face at the camps.
  • Pages 121-160

    These pages talk about different battles the authors dad fought in. It talks about a big mission called the 28th's. It was where the 28th regiment was to land on Green Beach One, and take it over.

    In pages 161-200, it talks about Easy Company and their struggles in the war. Easy Company faced not only harsh battles, but harsh weather. Lots of rain wherever they went. It drove some soldiers mad.

    In these pages, the author writes about how the soldiers took Mount Suribachi. They were exhausted after they took the mountain. They spent time exploring the caves, writing letters home, and sleeping. They deserved the rest. They just fought one of the bloodiest battles in US histry, and won.

    The closing pages of the book talk about the soldiers lives after the war. It talks about who the soldiers married, where they lived, and if they had kids or not. It also talks about the soldiers who didn't make it. I enjoyed this book a lot and would recommend it to anyone who ejoys reading war books or is in to American History.
