    Declaration of Independence
    The Declaration of Independence was a written letter sent to King George lll from the colonists. It states all the complaints and wrong-doings of the King and states that the colonies want to be free and Independent nation. It freed our country and allowed us to run the way we see best. This is how we are the nation we are today becasue of that one document leading to a revolution.

    Signing of Constitution
    The Constitution was a redo of the former written government that was almost a complete failure. It was updated and way more effective. It is so influencial in America's history because it was a complete change of how we ran our government, and is still used today.

    This was a transaction between U.S president Thomas Jefferson and France. This more than doubled the size of America overnight. The Louisiana Purchase was the largest land transaction to take place EVER in the world.

    This was an act that stated it was legal and mandatory that Indians be removed from their homees and land to make room for American settlers. It was a long and deadly journey and many died.
  • Harper's Ferry

    Harper's Ferry
    John Brown, an extreme abolishionist, led a raid of a U.S arsenal for guns and military supply. He distributed them to black slaves at night, and told them to rebel against their masters. Some joined him, some refused. However, he was executed for treason. As he was walking down the court house steps to be hanged, many northerners and blacks came to pay their respects and praise him for, what they thought, good deeds.

    Abraham Lincoln was elected president in 1860, which caused much strife between the North and the South. This was the "final straw" for the slave states, and eleven states seceded in the months following. The Election of 1860 may have just been the most important presidential election America has ever made.

    The Homestead Act allowed any American citizen to pay a very low price for 160 acres of next-to-free land. The condition was that they needed to upkeep and maintain the land to stay on it. This drove out a lot of Native Americans and caused many deaths due to war and fighting.

    The Battle of Little Bighorn was named after the river it was fought near. It is nicknamed "Custer's Last Stand", because this was when General Custer lost to the Native Americans. Up until this point, American soldiers had been dominating. This was the first time that every single American was killed, leaving Sioux and Cheyenne warriors victorius.

    There was a lot of debt because of the World War taking place. Many people lost their jobs, their homes, and all their posessions. America went through a huge period of struggle and illness. This has caused our nation to be more descerning with money. The people still alive today that lived during this time are frugal and have learned to save and use everything. It also helped our nation come back stronger than before by building a close dependence on one another.

    This is a speech given by Martin Luther King Jr. He was an African American man with a dream that one day, all people reguardless race, will be treated with equal respect. He saw how poorly the blacks were being treated and wished that one day it would end.

    I was born in Womens and Babies Hospital in Lancaster, PA. I was born into a Christian family with an older brother who was five years old. I am interested in physical activties and sports. Specifically running (track and field) and gymnastics.

    Two commercial jets were hijacked and crashed into the World Trade Center Twin Towers. Another hijacked jet was crashed into the Pentagon. A fourth jet was hijacked, but crashed unsuccessfully before damaging any buildings. Many lives were lost and devastation was high. Our nation was completed changed by the experience. We made our airlines safer and have more security regulations. We also uped our game and became way more on our guard. The attacks have scared the lives of the people forever.

    Mt. St. Helens, an active volcano at the time, erupts, devastating the lives of many in Washington, US. A section of our nation has been completely destroyed. The compassion and concern hits closer to home since the devastation is in our country and not another. It reallys has a greater impact.
