    Entertainment for the Wealthy
    Entertainment for the wealthy consisted of art exhibits, theater and music performances, and the circus which everybody loved. In that time, horse-back riding and boxing was most popular. The wealthy had more opportunities for entertainment, such as exploring an art exhibit, because other people, that are not as wealthy as them, didn't have enough money to pay for those opportunities.

    Popular Games for all ages
    In this era, Shadow Pantomimes, were trending for children. This was something that kept the little kids entertained. Another entertaining activity was "blind man's bluff". This game was sort of like "tag" with a person who is "it" and that person is blindfolded. There were many other games that were trending in this era, such as "Hunt the ring" which is players sitting in a circle, holding onto a ribbon which gets passed around. The ring is on the ribbon, and you have to catch the ring.

    Burlesque musicals were very pleasing to people that lived in this era. One act Pantomimes were also attractive in this year. "Playbills" and "Yaddish Playscripts" were used in drama plays for actors to remember their lines.

    In this era, Entertainment Ads were most famous. Some ads that were recognizd are, "La Vie Parisienne" (1886), "Nouveau Cirque"(1889), "Bal au Moulin Rouge"(1889), "Branson Howard's Shenandoah"(1889) and lastly "Les Misreables"(1886).

    In this generation, Literature was often listened to. Some authors that have written Literature are, Emily Dickinson, she writes poems. Howells, has written "The Hazard of new Fortune". Lastly, Sarah Orne Jewett wrote "The Tales of New England".
  • Toys and Games for Children

    Toys and Games for Children
    In the 1900's, kids enjoyed playing with building blocks, which they would use whatever kind of block that they had. Young girls liked playing with dolls, which were like an extra friend for them. Lastly, children would be amused by Jack in the box, and playing with Kite's. Children that lived in this generation, didn't have much, but they worked with whatever they had, such as making their own dolls, or making their own kite's.
