Darkness
After the horrific head on collision, both Nick and Allie enter comeplete darkness for what seemed to be enternity for them, but was really 9 months. They see a tiny light and Allie describes it when she "reached" for it and entered Everlost. Nick has a similiar description -
The Journey
Nick and Allie make their way to their own homes to see if their parents and siblings survived. A boy they met, nicknamed Lief, does not want them to go for he would be lonely. Instead he meets up with them later by saving them from Jonnie-O's gang. -
Mary Hightower
Nick and Allie meet Mary Hightower at the death site of the Twin Towers. There Mary lets them stay amongst the other little kids, but Allie soon becomes skeptical and still is eager to leave and get to her home while Nick is drooling over Mary. -
The Haunter
After staying with Mary for a long time, Allie decides that she wants to leave. She hears rumors of a person who can ecto-rip food from the living world. Allie wants to go see the person so she brings Nick and Lief by taunting them with food. But when gets their The Haunter puts Nick and Lief into pickle barrels, but spare Allie. -
Help
Allie, desperate and guilty, runs to ask Mary for help. Mary refused to put her "children" into danger. Allie then comes up with a crazed idea. She seeks Jonnie-O's gang for their help. She persuades them with the thought of mountains of food. When she gets to the Haunter's place, all barrels are gone except for one barrel that contains the Haunter himself. He says that the McGill took the other barrels. Allie sets out to find the McGill on his ship. -
SkinJacking
Allie seeing that the Mcgill's ship is leaving, skinjacks a Captain of another boat so that she can jump onto the McGill's boat where she is confronted by the McGill -
The McGill
The McGill, blinded by his own arrogance and greed, is convinced by Allie that she can teach him how to skinjack people. The McGill goes on like this while Allie tries to find a way to free the chimed Nick and Lief. -
Allie's Plan is Ruined
When the McGill retrieves the Haunter, the Haunter tells him that Allie isn't really teaching him how to skinjack. It is impossible to teach someone. You either have the skill or you don't. Allie is then chimed along with Lief while Nick rides with the McGill to Atlanctic City where McGill faces his arch enemies -
Mikey
When Nick persaudes Mary to go help Allie, they agree and go together without her kids. They travel to the McGill at Atlantic City in a Zepplin, The Hindenburg Airship. Allie is brought along with the other prisoners. Then all of the sudden a Zepplin appears and Mary steps out. Mary shows the McGill a picture of Mary and her brother Mikey. The "McGill" is then transformed into himself (Mikey). Mikey runs off on a horse as Allie heads to her house as planned before
