    Chinese Revolution
    Their were disagreeements between the Communist and Nationalist parties. Kai-shek and Mao Zedong had a conference to discuss post-war government and they decided that Democracy was important. It created a new enemy for the Americans
  • Korean War

    Korean War
    A war between North and South Korea with the U.S backing South Korea. The Korean War was the first armed confrontation of the Cold War.
  • Uprisings in Czechoslovakia

    Uprisings in Czechoslovakia
    Hungary, Russia, Bulgaria, East Germany, and Poland invaded Czechoslovakia. The Czechoslovakian government immediately declared that the “invasion was a violation of socialist principals, international law, and the United Nations Charter. It was a major part of the cold war.

    Sputnik Launched
    Russians and Americans where competing so see who could acheive more goals in space. Russians and Americans launched the first artificial satellite into space. This impacted the cold war because it made Americans think that Russia was going to fire a weapon at them from space.

    U2 Spy Plane Shot Down in Russia
    Francis Gary Powers, The U.S and The Soviet Union were involved. A U2 spy plane was shot down by the U.S and this affected the cold war because it caused mistrust.

    The Germans and Russia were involved. The Germans constructed it to separate the Communist (East) from the Democracy (West). The Berlin Wall reprented the clash between good and evil what is basically what the Cold War was about.

    The U.S and the Soviet Union were involved. Russia had misslies in Cuba that were faced toward the U.S. This Created a lot of tention and almost caused a war between the U.S and Russia.

    Eastern Europe and Russia where involved. Students and workers went on the streets of Budapest and issued their sixteen points. This basically sumed up what the cold war stood for.
