    Spark-Lexington and Concord
    British troops were sent to capture to the 2 rebel leaders, John Hancock and Samuel Adams, and to destory the Rebels weapons supplies. The plan failed thanks to Paul Revere, who warned Colonist of the British. At the battle of Lexington, The British killed 18 Colonist but couldn't find John and Samuel so the left for Concord.   • First-The Battle of Bunker Hill

    First-The Battle of Bunker Hill
    The British decided to take control of Charlestown, forcing the Colonist out of the area. While the British were making plans to imvade, the 1,500 Colonist went and occupied Breed Hill and Bunker Hill to fight against the Colonist. The British attacked the next morning, with Major General Howe commanding them. The Colonist lost 1,150 people, as well as General Warren, the General leading the colonist into batle.     This battle was a great victory for the patriots. It consisted of two battles, taking place on September 19 and and October 7, 1777. The First battle was The Battle of Freedman's Farm. The colonist easily won because of colonist sharp shooters. The second battle, The Battle of Benis Heights, was another huge victory for the colonist forcing the British to finally retreat.     General Washington was dealing with many defeats against the British. Washington decided to move his troops back to Valley Forge, it's steep climb and close location near a river made it perfect for battle. Sadly, the Colonist were low on supplies. Starving and barely with any clothes, many troops were ready to quit. But, eventually the Winter ended and the army was tougher than ever, ready to fight.     George Washington decided that it was time to attack the British in Yorktown, Virgina. George lead a group of 17,000 soldiers to take on the 9,000 British occupiying Yorktown. Wuth the help of the Spanish and French, they surronded the British, keeping them from retreating and they attacked for 3 weeks straight. General Cornwallis eventually surrendered on Oct. 17 1781.
