  • Albany Congress

    In Albany the British called a meeting for the colonies leaders and the Iroquois tribes. They wanted to form a alliance with the Iroquois and wanted the colonist to defend themselves against the French.

    The French and Indian war

    The French,Huron and the Algonquin faced the British the colonist and the Iroquois. they were fighting for the Ohio River Valley. the British won the war and the French lost most of their lands in North America.

    The French and British signed the treaty. The French lost almost al of their land including Canada and east of Mississippi.

    Pontiac's War

    The leader of the Ottawa Pontiac formed a alliance with the westerns Native Americans to fight the British. the Natives were trying very hard to keep their land from the British.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    The British wanted to avoid more war with the Natives so they issued the Proclamation of 1763. This banned the colonists to settle in the west of the line of the Appalachian mountains.
  • The Sugar Act

    The British imposed tax many products including molasses. It also put harsh punishment of smugglers.
  • The Quartering Act

    This act means that the colonists have to have a soldiers come and live with them. They have to give food to the soldier that is staying with them even if they don't want anyone to stay with them.

    The stamp act made all the mad because there was no way around this tax because you needed a stamp on almost everything. You needed it on newspapers, wills, licenses, insurance policies, land titles, contracts, and other documents. So there wer many protest and in Philadelphia, Boston and New York merchants organized a boycott of British goods and this. There was also a petition sent to the king about this so by 1766the act was taken away.

    There was an angry crowd of workers and sailors that was around a small group of soldiers,the angry soldiers were throwing snow balls at the soldiers then one soldier had enough and fired his gun. They killed five and wounded six. The first to fall was Crispus Attucks an Affrican American sailor.

    The British Parliament passed the Tea Act in 1773. The Act was to help the East India Company. the colonist were not mad about the prices but they were mad about the monopoly that the East India Company got.
