    George Washington accidentally killed the Frenchman he was supposed to discuss peace with. The French fought the colonist and some of the british army. Indians fought on both side's not just the french. The british one but, lost 2 battles.
    England taxed the colonies more for the war debt.

    Main purpose was to stop the colonist from settling west of the Appalachian mountains. They couldn't expand west so the were stuck on the East coast
  • Sugar Act

    Lord Grenville was in charge of enforcing the act. The Sugar and Molasses act was fixing to run out, It also dropped the tax on molasses from 6 pence per gallon to 3. It almost crushed britain's markets because molasses wasnt being sold. For the most part sugar was boycotted and so was molasses.

    George Grenville proposed act to parliament. It was the first direct tax on the colonies. All paper products had to have a government stamp on them, to show item wasn't smuggled. The sons of liberty were formed to protest the tax, they scared the tax agents into running away. The colonist tell parliament they cant have the law unless they have representation in parliament. They resolved the House of Burgess's.

    The law taxed certain goods such as paint, glass, lead, etc.
    The Writs of Assistance was like a unlimited search warrant so the british customs officers good go into your house if they thought you may have been smuggling something. They said the tax was an Import Duty They burnt the ship "gaspee" down, Colonist boycotted british goods.

    The Colonist were upset at the British, they protested outside customs house. Things got out of control and the british soldiers shot into a crowd. 5 people died, others wounded, British soldiers were not punished harshly.

    The Sons of Liberty were responsible The Boston Massacre was the main cause for the Tea Party The SoL dressed up as Native Americans and found a British Tea Boat They dumped all the tea in the harbor and then the king found out and after that the intolerable acts were passed
