    Peace of Augsburg

The Peace of Augsburg was created. It was the first law in Germany to allow Lutheranism and Catholicism to coexist peacefully. They came to this conclusion in a Diet held earlier that year. They decided that the Emperor shall not go to war on a religious basis, Catholicism and Lutheranism were the only two recognized religions, and that only one religion shall be recognized in each region.
