    intimacy vs. isolation
    Charles is a seventeen-year-old boy and has been feeling the pressure to be in a relationship before graduating high school. Although he doesn't feel ready and prioritizes other aspects in life, he still wishes to be in a relationship, or feel what it's like. Charles is currently facing the crisis, "intimacy vs. isolation" in Erikson's 6th stage, where individual battles from being lonely by spending time and maturing alone or growing by making social connections.
  • integrity vs. despair

    integrity vs. despair
    Richard is a 60-year-old man who just found out he has incurable cancer and can only live for four more years. Filled with despair and grief, Richard can't help but look at his life and realize he still wants to do so much more and decides to spend his last years with no regrets. In Erikson's 8th stage, "integrity vs. despair" an individual is having an internal crisis of honest self-reflection of their life and either feel satisfied or regretting being underaccomplished in life.
  • identity vs. confusion

    identity vs. confusion
    Rachel has been attending 7th grade and is questioning her new friend group. Although she was close to her old friends back in elementary, she's trying to find new friends to become more popular. Right now, Rachel is currently enacting Erikson's 5th stage, "identity vs. confusion". In this crisis, the individual is battling the feeling of confusion of finding new aspects of themselves and being able to form a new identity for themselves.
