Erickson timeline event 2
Shrek (age 26) has been treated poorly by humans his entire life. Not fully knowing himself yet, mixed with his fear of feeling more rejection, he stays in his swamp and refuses to interact with society. This is the stage intimacy vs. isolation. In this stage, someone is not fully secure in their own identity. They are afraid to reach out and make intimate connection due to fear of rejection. -

Tim (age 8) went home after school and spent an hour practicing basketball 4 days a week. He wanted to prove to the other boys in his class that he was as good as they were at basketball. This is the stage of Industry vs. inferiority. In this stage, children need to learn new skills they feel are important or they will feel as though they are not up to par. -
Erikson Timeline event 3
Bernie (age 75) looks back at all the achievements he has made throughout his lifetime. He is content with the work hes done, especially the work helping to establish future generations in american society. This is the phase Ego Integrity vs. Despair. In this phase, someone near death thinks back to their life and either validates themselves (based on that work) or feels depressed and unvaluable.
