Equality Life Map

  • Home of Infants

    Home of Infants
Equality 7-2521 lived in the Home of Infants from the time he was born to the time he turned five years old. The Home of Infants housed all the children of the City who had been born in the same year.
  • Home of the Students

    Home of the Students
When Equality turned five year olds, he was sent to the Home of Students for ten years of learning. Men must learn until they reach their fifteenth year. The Home of Students was a school of sorts, where lessons were taught to the Home's students for ten years. That is where the students lived for that timespan.
  • Home of the Street Sweepers

    Home of the Street Sweepers
After completing ten years of education, each citizen is sorted into their separate Homes (Home of the Scholars, Home of the Leaders, etc.) by the Council. Some citizens would continue on with education, but some would be assigned their life's job at this age. Equality 7-2521 was assigned the job of "Street Sweeper".
  • The Discovery of the Tunnels

    The Discovery of the Tunnels
Equality lived as a Street Sweeper for four years, until he made his discovery. He and International 4-8818 stumbled upon an old iron grill over a black hole. Equality decides to explore the hole, which is a crime, because the hole is from the Unmentionable Times. Equality refused to tell the Council about the hole.
  • Equality + Liberty

    Equality + Liberty
Equality comes across a female known as Liberty 5-3000, while they are each doing their jobs. He develops a large crush on Liberty and watches her every day. Liberty works the soil and lives in the Home of the Peasants, which is beyond the city. It's part of Equality's job to keep the road clean near that area, and Liberty works the fields right next to it. Keep in mind, men are forbidden to take notice of women.
  • Equality speaks to Liberty

    Equality speaks to Liberty
Equality speaks to Liberty for the first time, and tells her that she is beautiful. Surprisingly, she responded and asked his name. Basically, they go on flirting for a few moments.
  • Equality + Liberty = Forbidden Thoughts

Equality + Liberty = Forbidden Thoughts
Equality tells Liberty that he calls her "The Golden One."
Liberty tells Equality that she calls him "The Unconquered." Such thoughts are forbidden, as those names distinguish them from others.
  • Equality discovers Electricity

    Equality discovers Electricity
Equality discovers copper wires in the tunnels, and later discovers their power "of the sky". He understands how the lightbulbs work and they help him in his work in the tunnels.
  • Palace of Corrective Detention

Equality gets caught after spending practically an entire night down in the tunnels. The Council of the Home questions him upon his arrival back at the Home of the Street Sweepers. Equality refuses to tell them where he has been and the Council orders for him to be taken to the Palace of Corrective Detention and lashed until he tells them.
  • Home of the Scholars

Equality took his box, with the light, to the Home of the Scholars to present it at the meeting for the World Council of Scholars. Equality attempted to tell the Scholars of his discovery, but the council members just yelled at Equality about how wretched he was to have thought that his mind was greater than others and for having thoughts of the one and not of the many.
