The IUCN is a global authority on the status of the natural world and measures to safe guard it. They also provide tools for human progress, economic growth, and nature conservation can take action at the same time.

It is a Methylmercury poisoning with neurological symptoms that is caused by a daily consumption of larger quantities of fish and shellfish that had been contaminated by a toxic chemical. This became one of the first epidemics in the southern coastal area of the Yatasushiro Sea through the 50’s and 60’s. This was due to environmental pollution caused by industrial activity. Minamata killed many people and caused conflicts in communities and left lurking issues still continuing to this day.

The Gaia Hypothesis was discovered in 1972 by James Lovelock, which explained how Earth was a self-regulating complex system. In this system it included the atmosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere and lastly, the pedosphere. Through these systems, they are all evolving together and are maintaining similar conditions of life in the planet.

Greenpeace is a global union of independent campaign organizations that use peaceful protest movements to expose global environmental problems and try to provide solutions that help the environment. The “Save the Whales” movement was a campaign to help stop commercial whaling and to place an international ban on it.

Bhopal gas tragedy in 1984, was one of the most horrific disasters in the history of mankind by killing 2500-6000 people and harming over 200,000 people in the towns exposed to the different degrees of gas. However, there are over 500,000 victims ha have survived the disaster. With all of these toxins that were released from the gas, studies have shown results of chronic illnesses in survivors of the Gas disaster

The Nuclear Power Plant, Chernobyl, that had exploded and contaminated areas around Europe due to high radioactive materials that had been released. The result of this explosion is that it released at least 5% of radioactive material into the environment, resulting in later problems in health diseases and animal deformities. This was a flawed Soviet Union reactor that was designed with major mistakes made by the operators.

The Documentary An Inconvenient Truth was released on May 24, 2006 in the United States. This film highlights the threat of climate change and how it effects the Earth through cause and effect scenarios throughout the movie using the history of various different attempts to help the Earth. The documentary also talks about how some this are revisable and we can ultimately save the climate, however, it would take everyone to make a change not just one group of individuals.

The Kyoto Animation arson attack in 2019, killed at least 36 people and injured 33 more people. This had been one of the most deadliest massacres in Japan since the End of WWII, when the US had bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This fire had been started by using 10 gallons of gasoline ad dumping it all over the building. This was the countries deadliest attack in decades.
