    The first of two Acts of Supremacy, this stated that Henry VIII was the “Supreme Head of the Church of England.” The main goal of this act was to firmly declare the English Monarch as the the official head of the Church of England which reduced the Catholic Pope's power. When King Henry VIII wanted to marry Anne Boleyn, the Pope would not allow the annulment. This is what desired the creation of the Act of Supremacy.
